Soar I.
This little shop has some tasty dishes.
I only got to try their yookkejang spicy beef soup but it was perfect for the cold weather. It had some noodles in it but came with a side of I do wish there was more shredded vegetables. My friend had the ramen which was also tasty.
The wait was pretty long despite there not being many people... I will likely come back for more -

Came here one day when another place we wanted to go was an hour wait. Had no idea what to expect but we found a gem!
Service is always friendly and fast in a welcoming, clean environment. Seriously, last time we ate there we finished our food about 25 minutes after arriving.
Our regulars, scored...
Tofu roll (8/10): love this roll, would love it even more if it was also offered in a tempura version
Avocado roll (9/10): this would be a 10 if the rice/seaweed was flipped. avocado is always fresh
Sweet Potato Tempura roll (9/10): My partner's favorite. Huge pieces, served warm. Exquisite flavor each time - we are sure to count our pieces when we split because nobody wants to give theirs up.
Miso soup (8/10): always plenty of tofu. flavor does fluctuate between visits, but it's always great. at its best it's a 10!
Vegetable Gyoza (8/10): Piping hot, served with chili sauce that has a kick at the end. Always crisped to perfection, never overdone. -

My coworkers and I decided sushi and sashimi would be good for lunch, so we visited Wasabi. The casual restaurant is on busy Woodward Avenue in the Park Shelton building. It's a casual, low-key spot with plenty of dining and a sushi bar. We lucked up and parked on Woodward, but I would imagine that there are other parking options around the building; the restaurant is close to the corner of Kirby.
You won't break the bank at Wasabi. The menu items are comparably priced. The service is fast and courteous. My only complaint is that the inside of the restaurant seems pretty cramped. There is a sort of an al fresco dining option - there is seating in the back of the restaurant which is opens up to the "courtyard" on the inside of the office building. It seemed pretty cool out there. One could do a little people watching and window shopping. There are no restrooms inside of the restaurant. There are public restrooms available that are shared with the other offices and shops in the building.
The menu is expansive with lots of sushi rolls to choose from. The menu also offers edamame, lettuce wraps, shrimp tempura, dumplings and other appetizers. There are a half-dozen of soups to choose from; ramen, and other Korean and Japanese dishes. There are also vegetarian options. I was happy to see lattes and other coffee drinks available. One could literally eat lunch there every day of the month and not exhaust the menu.
The food was fantastic. I will definitely be back for more as I love sushi and the location is super convenient to my job. -

Parking was not easy for this location from what I could tell. We had visited DIA and decided it was a nice enough day to walk.
Finding this location was a little challenging because it was in a building.
I had super high hopes it would be priced nicely. Appetizers were fairly priced. We got 5 gyoza for $4.99.
Sushi is expensive in my opinion. Two 8 piece rolls cost me almost $24. Sushi should run about $1 a piece.
Service and food was great. -

This is the best... oh wait... only sushi in midtown, (that I know of besides Whole Foods.) It serves its purpose but it's not great. That said, the downtown sushi places are way overpriced and not much better so this would be my go to if I was at WSU. For sushi in the area, I prefer Fat Salmon sushi in Hamtramck.
The Korean food is much better than the sushi. I really wish they had kimchi fried rice! I don't understand how that's not on the menu.
